Macon Bacon Welcome Jesse Litsch as New Head Coach
MACON, GA – The Macon Bacon are excited to announce the hiring of former Major League pitcher Jesse Litsch as the team’s new head coach for the upcoming 2026 season.
Litsch, who spent a total of 8 years in professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays, brings a wealth of professional experience and a passion for developing young talent to the Bacon. Known for his work ethic and leadership, he appeared in 92 MLB games between 2007–2011.
Beyond his success in the majors, Litsch has coached in the college summer ball circuit for the past four years. He managed the Williamsport Crosscutters in the MLB Draft League for two seasons and, most recently, served as head coach of the Sanford River Rats in the Florida Collegiate Summer League, where he led the team to an overall record of 26-3 in 2025.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jesse and his family to the Macon Bacon,” said Team President Brandon Raphael. “His background as a Major Leaguer, combined with his dedication to mentoring players and giving back to the community, makes him a perfect fit for our organization. We believe Jesse will bring his drive and winning spirit to Macon, helping us elevate our performance on the field and more importantly give these student-athletes a great experience during their time here in Middle Georgia.
For Jesse Litsch, the move to Macon represents an exciting next chapter in his baseball journey. “I’m excited to join the Bacon family and lead a group of talented young players,” said Litsch. “This team has an incredible fan base and a strong presence in the community, and I look forward to building on that both on and off the field.”
The Macon Bacon are heading into their ninth season in the coastal plain league. Fans can stay up to date by following the team on social media at @GoMaconBacon or by visiting maconbaconbaseball.com for future announcements.
