Macon Bacon announce 2022 schedule

MACON – The Macon Bacon announced its 2022 schedule following a release of the Coastal Plain League (CPL) slate Friday.

The Bacon will play 52 games, including 28 home games. Macon will open the season on the road May 26 against Lexington County.

The following night, the Bacon will return home for the squad’s home opener against Florence. The home opener will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 27 and include a postgame fireworks show.

Macon will play one home game in May, 13 in June and 14 in July.

The CPL All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, July 10 in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The Petitt Cup Playoffs are scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 31 and conclude the following weekend.

Macon’s promotional schedule includes 21 theme nights and five fireworks shows. The Bacon will hold a 4th of July Fireworks Celebration on Monday, July 4. The team also will bring back fan-favorite theme nights, such as Southern Rock Night (June 18), Bark in the Park (June 24), Military Appreciation Night (June 25), Star Wars Night (July 16), Throwback Night (July 23) and Fan Appreciation Night (July 29).

Additionally, Macon will host a Father’s Day Game on June 19. The team is also introducing two new theme nights for the 2022 season, Kevin Bacon Night on July 8 and Hawaiian Night on July 9.
